The game awards - 2024
For the second year in a row, The Mill did the stage graphics for The Game Awards 2024, their 10th anniversary. You can watch the full live stream here. This was one of my favorite projects for a myriad of reasons. I learned so much technically and artistically and would love the opportunity to work on more projects like this.

The process was a familiar yet unique one for this project. Working primarily in advertising, it’s rare that I get clients who have very few rules. We were told to have fun, and we did. We went through about a hundred different designs before we landed on the 3 final looks. I designed a couple of the looks and animated/rendered/delivered all of them.

TEMPLATE
After figuring out how we want everything to look on the stage, we had to figure out how exactly to render for such unique screens. There ended up being 6 bespoke deliverable screens for each colorway of each look, and the rendered involved some tricky cameras for the perspective to work. I think we did a pretty bangin’ job getting some LED screens to look transparent.

The show
Seeing our work in person, at the show, was one of the most rewarding moments of my career. It was an incredible event, and my absolute pleasure to work on a small but mighty bit of it. Cheers to next year!
